Overgrown gardens - ethereal in nature and abounding in life. Unkept, yet astoundingly beautiful.
Middleton Place
Middleton Place is something of a dream. I don't think I have ever seen grass so green and their pond covered in lili pads rivaled the works of Monet- it was just stunning. Emma and I ended up there on a blazing hot day and we were met by a bit of rain. But despite the works of mother nature, this was the perfect place to spend the day.
Dagne Dover Launch Party
Dagne Dover Launch Party | June 26, 2013
Over one year in the making, and the Dagne Dover team excitedly debuted their handbag line on Wednesday evening. See the bags for yourself here and see more images from the evening here. Thank you Jessy, Deepa, and Melissa for letting me be a part of the evening.
Charleston in a Day
A day in Charleston was just the right amount of time to leave me wanting more. This is a city fit for an adventure. And although brief, we loved every second of it. Exploring King Street and it's treasures, admiring the architecture, walking the palm tree lined roads, and having an unforgettable meal at Husk (hands down best shrimp and grits & bloody mary's!) all made for a perfect day.
She's Got a Green Thumb
Getting to spend a weekend at home means getting to spend a weekend admiring my mother's wondrous ways with gardening. She has an inherent green thumb. Although I may not possess her gardening talents, I do share her love for flowers and find these to be stunning.
Being at home also called for a bit of rest and relaxation, in which I got to finish reading Elna Baker's hilarious and insightful book (The New York Regional Mormon Singles Halloween Dance). This excerpt is just one that sticks with you: “Impossible is Nothing. Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they’ve been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It’s an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It’s a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”
