I made a spontaneous trip to Auburn last night to visit my best friend (other half and confidant), Sarah. It was so refreshing to spend time with her and escape the world of Birmingham, even if it meant less than 24 hours together. We talked for hours over coffee... as well as the dinner she made me and the roasted marshmallows we concocted. We consider ourselves to be the 'same person,' but even though she would never admit it, she is definitely more inspirational then I could ever hope to be. I love you, Sarah.
on a rainy sunday in march. i made my first 'egg in a basket,' and am off to play bananagrams, which is quickly becoming our favorite game. i really like today. i hope everyone had a good weekend.
I was perusing through a used bookstore today and came across a copy of Atonement. In high school, I remember declaring it as my favorite book of all time and somehow, over the past four years, I let that declaration fade from my memory. How? I don't know. Flipping through it today, I was reminded of the beautiful and misunderstood love story that lies within it's pages. I get chills thinking about it. It's been four years since I read it and I wanted to re-awaken my love for the book I used to think about non-stop, and maybe inspire you to pick it up for yourself.

"but what really happened? the answer is simple: the lovers survive and flourish."
"finally he spoke the three simple words that no amount of bad art or bad faith can ever quite cheapen. she repeated them, with exactly the same emphasis on the second word, as if she had been the one to say them first."

We love twenty-first birthdays this year. The really are incredible to be a part of. That sounds weird to say but I think it's just because every time they role around, everyone is so happy. 21... it's the perfect milestone after turning 19, which in Alabama finally gives you the title of 'adult,' but in every other state is just another number, and then turning 20 which strips you of being able to call yourself a teenager but then doesn't give you anything good in return (it's horrible). And then there's that milestone: 2-1. It just seems so care/stress-free.
i feel like i probably definitely just jinxed everything by saying that, dangit.
