This was a ball for women coming into society. Can't you tell? When my friends from high school get together, it's like nothing has changed. Literally, who would guess that we a re all in our 20s now? You could say that we pride ourselves on having fun when we are together.
Six months was way too long. One of my best friends, Sarah, and I finally got to spend a weekend together... 40 hours to be exact. She is one of my best friends. She's inspiring, an amazing woman of the Lord, a free spirit, and always knows how to make me laugh. I hate that we can't spend more time together. And no matter what, people still point out all the time that we look alike. I love it... she's beautiful so that is quite the compliment. Okay. Obviously I miss Sarah already.
One of my best friends turned 21 this week and we celebrated with a wonderful dinner at Avo. 21st birthdays are so exciting.
The Alabama Theatre's gold-leaf coffered ceilings, intricate chandeliers, and classic feel made it absolutely perfect for our formal this year. It felt like we were walking into a ball set in the 1940's. We had the entire theatre to ourselves: dinner in main lobby and hall of mirrors and dancing on the stage. I got to wear a dress that I bought in Italy this summer and it ranks high on the list for being the most comfortable dress I have ever worn. We were having the best time and eventually got left by both of our rides because we just weren't ready to give up on the dancing quite yet.
