Nashville, You Were Good to Me

You know that feeling when you are at a place in your life where you just can't imagine being anywhere else.  That was Nashville for me.  It didn't matter if I was having the worst day ever, Nashville was still where I wanted to be.  Everything about it felt right.

Mama!

For her birthday last Thursday, my wonderful mother made it up to Nashville so that we could spend time together. We had a blast. We had a wonderful dinner at Flyte, managed to eat an entire thing of ice cream at midnight, showed off our skills at bowling, had a successful day of shopping, went antiquing, and of course made a cupcake run.  Nothing beats time with my best friend!

Time Flies

I officially feel old. My niece graduated from high school.

It is surreal to think that the little girl I used to play house with and dance around in costumes listening to the Annie soundtrack (on repeat) with will soon be packing up and leaving for college.  And now, instead of being goofy all of the time and talking about our American Girl Dolls, she comes to me for advice about friends, boys, and her future.  I love the changes and how we can relate and talk on a deeper level, but it is mind boggling to think back on childhood and realize that it feels like just yesterday.

And these two are next!

Day 1 of the internship

So, today was the first day of my internship with Soles4Souls!  The company is a nonprofit based in Nashville, TN and gives shoes to people in need.  Thus far, the company has given away over 9 million pairs of shoes in 125 countries!  As opposed to where I interned last summer it is great to be working for a company that gives shows away rather than designing and selling them.I can't wait to see what will happen with the internship over the next month.

I miss these two.
