Paris is such a magical city. I had been before - on weekend trips in the heat of the summer. But this time was different. At Christmas time, the city was quiet and lovely and the weather was impeccable. We wandered the streets of Montmarte, took to the top of the Eiffel Tower for a magnificent view, explored the wonders of Le Marais, and found ourselves wandering into any cathedral we came across. While it's my typical travel style to wander, we gave ourselves a loose itinerary. We learned the art of making baguettes and croissants, took a class on French wines, and had a walking tour through Le Marais. I always knew I liked Paris, but this time I loved it. Living in New York City, I always find it special to experience other large cities. And from my perspective, Paris is near perfect.
