Paris

Dear Paris,

You're more beautiful than I could have every imagined. Never did I picture myself watching the Eiffel Tower light up, stumbling across Notre Dame on a daily walk throughout your streets, sitting in front of the Louvre people watching, or eating a bignet on your old granite steps with my best friend. You are full of incredible food and your crepes are more amazing than one could dream of.  I wish you would teach me how to make them like you.  Your espresso is perfect, your people are friendly, and I wish I could spend hours upon hours in your beautiful parks. I hate to leave you tomorrow, but don't worry, I will be back. Thanks for the memories.

I leave for Rome on Thursday for 5 weeks & would love more than anything to get mail. [It would definitely help with the homesickness I am sure I will be experiencing] & of course I will write you back, & maybe even include something really special. a postcard? a photo? a slice of italian pizza? i'll make it happen. hope to hear from you!

A Country Visit

This past weekend, my friend Emma came to visit me at home [the real home in georgia]. We played outside with little Lola, explored Atlanta, and enjoyed my mother's homemade cooking. It was the first time I have invited any of my friends from college home with me, so it was especially fun to play tour guide around this little town. Along the way, we discovered this fun video app and put it to good use by making a video to remember the wonderful Sunday we had yesterday.

The Derby

It's safe to say that our Kentucky Derby experience did not involve sundresses, big hats, gourmet food, and fabulous seats. In fact, it was the complete opposite of all of those things. We all tried to look our trashiest, embracing the true redneck spirit, and I can honestly say that I did not see a horse the entire six hours we were there. It may not have been the 'typical' derby experience but it was one of the best days of my college experience. I suppose being there with an incredible group of people made the day that much more amazing.

Mother's Day Letter

Dear mom. You are a hot tamale. If I can cook like you one day, I will be the happiest girl alive. You're dance moves are priceless. And the fact that you know the words to In Da Club make you really cool. Your smile lights up a room. I am jealous of your blue eyes. You make me laugh. Especially when you dance around wearing the santa hat that sings. You have no idea how talented you are. Anyone who can finish a quilt in one day deserves something really awesome. You come up with the best names for things. You should honestly think of that for a future career. Your skills with crossword puzzles should make anyone jealous. You have always believed in me. You are inspirational. You have this crazy ability to make anything look awesome. I will forever be determined to get you on a roller coaster. You have always been patient with me. Even after that one time when I was 9 and ran over that tree with the Gator during your dinner party.  You are my best friend. Thank you for always laughing with me and not at me. And sorry for all the times I didn't clean my room. I love you times infinity. xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo Peanut.
